Welcome Into My House Vol. 2

I felt like I was overdue for a new Tech House mix, but almost as soon as I set out to do one, I felt like I wanted it to be very Housey and not Techy.

So, after a few weeks of track research and mix planning, here it is.

I decided to make it the second iteration of the Welcome Into My House series mostly because I simply did not know how to title it! 😀

25 tracks in 2 hours and 16 minutes of the many shades of House, from the Dark to the Light to the Deep…

For my birthday, I’m the one giving y’all a gift!

Again, here’s a mix born out of an intense bout of inspiration.

From the initial idea to the completion of the recording session, this mix took me about 12 hours, which really isn’t long compared to the usual gestation time I need for a new mix, and it was just in time for my birthday party, last Saturday!

I really like this one, I hope you will too!

So… Tech House is all the rage, huh?

There’s not a genre I haven’t spun or can’t spin, always with my very own unique touch, cuz I hate doing things just like everybody else.

So that’s what I set out to do with this mix.

But, really, I also dig this genre, or at least I did when I recorded this mix.

Since then, it has started going in circles, in my opinion, much like a snake eating its own tail.

Some FX and signature sounds (like those sweeps of white noise every few bars) have become so cliché and widespread among the established, as well as up-and-coming, producers that it seems no one is doing Tech House because they genuinely like it anymore, but rather because that’s where the money is at the moment.

Oh, well…

Hope you enjoy this mix, I think it is a very good portrait of that scene, at that time and, maybe, even since, plus it’s technically quite accomplished, if I may say so myself 😉
